CROWHURST PARISH COUNCIL AGREES TO ADOPT THE IOC FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT MODEL PUBLICATION SCHEME

Freedom of Information Act

The Freedom of Information Act 2000 gives a general right of access to all types of recorded information held by public authorities, sets out exemptions from that right and places obligations on a public authority.

The Parish Council has adopted the 2009 Model Publication Scheme issued by the Information Commissioner's Office. This endorses our commitment to routinely publish and make available a broad amount of information about the council as part of our normal business activities.

We aim to ensure that information is available without the need for a specific request, to minimise inconvenience and cost to the public. Most of the information is available on our website. In addition, where possible and practicable we make information available on the parish notice board located at the bottom Station Road, Crowhurst. Guide to Information

The council has produced a table showing the information that is available, how it can be obtained and whether there is a charge. This can be found in the Policies and Procedures section of our website. The guide includes a schedule of charges where applicable.

Further information about the Freedom of Information Act can be found on the Information Commissioner's Office website.
